The SICT Foundation focuses on supporting development of projects such as the creation of cell preparations.
This research has aim to repair tissue (epithelial dressings for the skin) or to compensate for the failing organs (eg. Beta cells of the pancreas for diabetes), or, conversely, to destroy tumors (anti-tumor immunotherapy using encapsulated cells).
The 3rd Science Day SICT took place in Bern, November 23rd, 2016, in Langhans Auditorium Inselspital. It was organized in partnership with the SCRM (Stem Cell Research in Regenerative Medicine) of Bern.
6 hospitals and therapeutic centers : Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano, Zurïch.
20 experts of high level in cell therapies
150 participants.
The number of target diseases by cellular therapy is important: Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, paraplegia (dystrophy), cancer, blindness, heart attack, epithelial dressings for burn victims.
Cell therapy represents a huge hope to many patients that can be treated and cured, thanks to Research carried out in this area.
